Q: How does the S3000 work? A: The S3000 uses an RF transceiver basedupon Ultra Wideband technology. The RFsignals exchanged between the sensor andthe base create a “ranging distance” whichis measure 20 times per second. If the phoneexceeds the pre-sent range, it will first pro-vide a warning and then if not returned willsound an alarm.
Q: Can I adjust the range? A: Yes. Instructions are included. The S3000can be put in programming mode with theIR2 key.
Q: Is there any warning for the consumer whenthey are reaching the edge of the “safe”range? A: Yes. When the consumer is approaching theedge of the safe range, the handset will emit asoft beeping tome to warn the consumer andencourage them to return toward the base.Once they start to return toward the base, thebeeping will stop.
Q: Does the range need to symmetrical? A: Yes. The technology creates a symmetricalsecurity zone. Asymmetric zones are not sup-ported at this time.
Q: Can I return the handset to any base? A: No. Each sensor is paired with a specificbase. If the smartphone is returned to thewrong base, it will emit a chirping tone to alerta sales associate to return it to the correctcharging base.
